Update 6.0 for Crime Boss: Rockay City is coming 5th of December!

Featuring a Winter themed main menu and new female teammates.

There’s also a brand new Police Station mission and for those of you who enjoy the fiery things in life – the vehicles will now explode when fired upon.

Big thanks to the community for helping us with this update. Of course there is still plenty to do, but are just a few of the most interesting and significant features that we have added to this update.

Highlights from update 6.0!

1. Winter themed main menu and enemy gangsters having Snowman heads on their heads.

4. Quality of life tutorial update.

5. Vehicles can now explode when shot.

Patch Notes

Fixes:

• Occasionally, female hooded team mate would not register damage. This was fixed.
• Non-latin characters were on occasion not shown ingame. Those should be correctly shown now.
• Player could encounter locked state of campaign upon continuing in Character Story mission after failing it. This should not happen anymore and this state should be fixed by this update.
• Sometimes, enemies would be stuck after spawn and would not come near player. This should not happen anymore.
• Multistore Robbery would sometimes load for excessive time. This should not happen anymore.
• Typo in “Strike received” text fixed.
• Wrong stairs collision in one of stores fixed.
• AI taking out weapon when ordered to loot something in stealth and keeping the weapon in hand. Bots should now hide weapon after bashing glass/ container.
• Spamming open/ close campaign dialogue should no longer result in loss of focus in menu.
• AI should be able to open and loot cash registers now.
• AI should be able to loot safe in “Car Dealer” now.
• Gold Cup nominal success ending cutscene should no longer have characters in A-poses.
• Sound loop of “counting score” was sometimes present after finishing Urban legend. This should not happen anymore.
• Party management screen would sometimes stay open, this should not happen anymore.
• Wrongly placed decal behind lifted truck adjusted. Rubber mark on road should not be floating anymore.
• Bug where Nasara was seen in scene for split second should not happen anymore. This created confusion when players thought Nasara should be available for talk, but was not.
• Throwing loot bag animation is now played for spectators.
• Warehouse ramp doors sometimes looked closed for client. This should not happen anymore.
• Number of police badges should now correspond at all times between FPS and Meta instances.
• ‘Strike received’ notification should not be called twice anymore.
• Lighting in Dragon Dogs tweaked.
• Lighting in Multistore tweaked.
• Lighting in Garage tweaked.
• Lighting in Hidden Vault tweaked.
• Lighting in bank tweaked.

Big thanks to the community for helping us with this update. Of course there is still plenty to do, but we just wanted to highlight a few of the most interesting and significant features that were added to update 5.0.

Highlights from update 5.0!

1. Halloween themed main menu and enemy gangsters having Halloween pumpkins on their heads

2. Crosshair toggle option added in game options – you can now turn crosshair on or off. Shooting with crosshair may be more accessible for certain players. Also pinging objects and giving commands through the ping is easier with the crosshair on.

3. New scenario: Breaking enemy deals – sneak into an enemy territory to steal money/loot that is being traded by enemies. The dealer will start running away if there is an alarm). Happens in new environment Diner or in the beach road underpass.

4. New environment for robbery scenario: Shopping arcade – a big shopping mall with 2 floors, with new shop variants.

5. Character detail UI overhaul (in TEAM menu) – for more clarity and better user experience.

6. Character Perks overhaul – removing negative perks (characters never start with negative perks or gain negative perks). This will manifest in next run of Campaign.

7. Butcher appearing in Dollar Dragon’s turfs – as a captain on the end of some Turf War fights against Sicarios, during the rogue-lite campaign now.

8. New playable teammates – more team variety for your gang.

Here we are with yet another update! As we keep on saying – Rockay City is the city that never sleeps! And we plan to continue this for the future.

There’s a lot that went into update 4.0, but we have just listed a few of the most notable and requested from the community.

• All enemies in turf war have red markers over their heads instead of different colors per gang. 
• Additionally, the status bar in turf war is red color for all enemy gangs instead of different colors for enemy gangs. 
• Aim Assist adjusted for special enemies.
• Enemy boss elimination reward added. 
• Stealth combat tweaks to provide an option to intimidate enemies and sneak through missions without raising alarm. 
• Selected features are highlighted on a new screen after game updates. 
• New animation for stealth takedown. 

FIXES 

• Stealth takedown works correctly now in multiplayer for all players. 
• Players no longer have issues breaking objects with fists. 
• Bug fixed when players occasionally experience bug where territories yield negative income. 
• Subtitles staying on screen after dialogue fixed. 
• Promotion for Baker and Touchdown not free anymore as it intended. 
• Invisible collision in ‘Meet the Captain’ removed. 
• Input device in voice chat can be changed now. 
• Getting back from Alt-tabbed game no longer muffles the in-game sound. 
• Fire extinguisher no longer disappears after picking it up while holding two bags with loot. 
• Shuffle debrief screen shown correctly for all clients. 
• Players no longer able to push vehicles on the map. 
• Highway convoy – clients had occasional issues with attaching loot bag to escape rope. 
• Elevator in Hidden Vault doesn’t trigger countdown anymore to move to the roof when on roof. 
• Player can shoot over the railing at the pier in Import Export. 
• Debrief screen doesn’t trigger again after joining new game.

Crime boss Hielo, started charging civilians a cash toll whenever someone entered one of his territories. Apparently it wasn’t very popular among Hielo’s own people who couldn’t afford to breath inside their own turf.

It’s been another whole month since you were last here! I know we missed you too!

In this edition we are helping support the Crime Boss: Rockay City FREE WEEKEND! I know, we’ve moved up in the world with a sponsorship deal! Not bad right!

So anyway, what we thought we would do is ask the people who know best about the game itself! The Community!

Us journos, we only know how to do two things – how to spell ‘available’ right the second time around and voicing our opinions! Yes, those pink floral pants look delightful on you…

SOOOOO, here we have it – our Tips and Tricks segment from the wise community people of  the Crime Boss: Rockay City Reddit!

TRICKS OF THE TRADE – REDDIT EDITION

Baker’s Battle is a rogue-lite campaign, so you are not expected to conquer Rockay City at your first (few) attempts. This is perfectly okay – you will still earn plenty of permanent perks that will make subsequent campaign runs more successful. (JohnBart)

Always take cover. Prepare to have nightmares about Michael Rooker’s kissing sounds. (ClearNPresentCowboy)

You can shoot armored truck cages to quickly open them up instead of meleeing them, this also applies to warehouse boxes. In case you need to start snatching things quick. (astralhunt)

Grand heists netting you the most money could be absolutely difficult at your first few runs, but don’t worry: as you gain additional perks and funds, so will they become easier over time. Again, it’s a roguelite game, and it’s okay to fail at your first few tries. (JohnBart)

First tip, you are going to die. And have to restart. Focus on leveling up your boss points. For career mode focus on Hielo first. Even if a territory a day, depending how aggressive you are. Turfs equal money. Invest that money in turf takeover or upgrading your weapons for your crew. (7600Squawk)

Don’t worry if you fail a story mission – most storylines have several branching and alternative paths which can lead to juicy rewards, even if you fail some of their missions at first. In addition, certain heisters (like Clutch or Wiz) can only be recruited if you take said alternative paths. (JohnBart)

General tip is always kill detectives like go out of your way to do so and also be nice to civis. (Coffeeandgreentea)

You can smack a cop around to make them surrender. Even do a few in a group if you’re quick enough. (DinosaurLion)

When playing stealthily, consider that every heist which features security cameras will have a security room located somewhere on the map. Make it a priority to find said room and disable the cameras, as doing so makes stealth a lot easier. (JohnBart)

Mark guards & even civilians at all times it will save you been seen on many occasions. (DiggyDoolans)

Cops guarding a place needs to be melee’d to get them to be intimidated, if you just intimidate them they’ll radio in and shoot you! (astralhunt)

During each run, make sure to fully upgrade a couple of heisters. This not only gives you strong teammates for more difficult jobs and grand heists, but you can also re-hire them in later campaign runs fully upgraded. Some heisters only require spending money on their promotions, while others (like Ranger and Jupiter) have their own story missions that you also need to complete. (JohnBart)
